GeoGebra is a free downloadable dynamic software package for the teaching of mathematics in schools. It is a useful package for teachers of mathematics, who want to start using ICT in their classrooms and are unable or are not prepared to invest in one of the commercial packages. During the interactive workshop teachers will be shown some of the workings and potential usages of this package for the both the new Junior and Leaving certificate Mathematics courses. Topics covered will include geometry, algebra and statistics.

Annie Patton is a secondary school teacher in St Patrick’s Cathedral Grammar School Dublin 8, who is currently on secondment as a Regional Development Officer of the Project Maths Development Team. She has also been a part time tutor with Blackrock Education Centre. She has been co-coordinator of school based projects in connection with The Diageo Liberties Learning Initiative and has completed three projects in connection with TeachNet. In 2003 Annie completed a Master of Studies in ICT and Education at Trinity College.
